Tim Berner-Lee seemed to thing of it more or less like nodes branching toward other nodes much like associative thoughts might.johniehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08077684126848079122noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5452778081872252646.post-68772072938917419872010-11-12T19:25:27.818-08:002010-11-12T19:25:27.818-08:00The rhizome concept is like computers and the inte...The rhizome concept is like computers and the internet, but has the way the internet been mapped out detrimental towards ever becoming a "true rhizome"? I think Ted Nelson would argue for his Zenadu space being the true rhizome analogy.Evan Tracyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00296924302432601119noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5452778081872252646.post-15246156185833258532010-11-12T13:47:49.738-08:002010-11-12T13:47:49.738-08:00Yeah you made some good connections between the rh...Yeah you made some good connections between the rhizome concept and computers. These sorts of branching structures arise almost everywhere you look, whether it's your own thoughts, the inner workings of your computer, the branches of a tree, the confluence of a river system, the branching of biological evolution. It seems existence is made up of all of these interconnections.Kevin Masonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10095172242008372779noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5452778081872252646.post-5363987625190611972010-11-12T12:07:46.591-08:002010-11-12T12:07:46.591-08:00I like the connection you made between rhizomes an...I like the connection you made between rhizomes and computers. After reading the articles, it seemed important to reconsider how I thought about the unfolding of history and how various technologies came to be. The branching system is a more dynamic and apt way to think about these things, as opposed to the more conventional linear system (everything goes forward in a straight line).Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
